From Dreams to Reality - One Bounce at a Time

How It All Started

Jump for Joy of Kennesaw began with a simple dream: finding a way to help pay for our two daughters' college education. As a pastor married to a teacher, we knew we'd need to get creative to make higher education a reality for our girls.

The journey began when I was searching for a waterslide rental for our church's Vacation Bible School. After flipping through the Yellow Pages (this was before Google!), I finally found a company called "Gregory's Toy Chest" in Fayetteville, Georgia—about 40-50 miles away from our home in Marietta.

When the owner delivered the waterslide, we struck up a conversation that would change our lives. He looked around and said, "You should consider getting into this business. Look at how far you had to go to find someone." Then he mentioned something that caught my attention: "The IAAPA trade show is coming to Atlanta this year, and I can get you some tickets."

A Partnership Born in 30 Seconds

At that trade show, we purchased our first inflatable—a princess castle from a manufacturer in California. When it came time to pick it up from the trade show floor, I brought my brothers-in-law along to help. In what might be the fastest business decision ever made, one of them spotted a monster truck bounce house and bought it on the spot. Just like that, we had a partnership.

While that partnership lasted only six months before my brother-in-law decided it wasn't for him, Cindy and I knew we had found our calling.

Mission Accomplished and Beyond

From those humble beginnings, we achieved our original goal—both of our daughters graduated from college. Today, we're proud parents of a doctor and a teacher with her master's degree, both thriving in their careers.
